Biography

Alaa was born and raised in France to Moroccan immigrant parents. He practiced Taekwondo since the age of 7 until he earned the world champion title when he was 18. Dreaming of becoming an actor, he dropped his university course in 2004, and settled in Thailand to broaden his acrobatic and fighting skills. He trained during two years with thai professional stuntmen, and, back in Paris, he attended the acting classes of both the "International Theater School of Blanche Salant & Paul Weaver" and the school "Pour l'instant".

Since the age of 21, Alaa was casted for action films like "Traitor", dramas ("Pour elle", "Un baiser papillon") and comedies ("Le Missionnaire", "10 jours pour s'aimer") playing with actors such as Don Cheadle, Vincent Lindon and Elsa Zylberstein. His diversified yet young experience got him to join the main cast of "Chinese Zodiac" directed by Jackie Chan, as well as to participate in the Auber opera "La Muette de Portici" directed by Emma Dante.

Alaa speaks French, English and Arabic fluently, and also studied Spanish and Thai. He is based in Paris and has worked with French, American, Thai, Chinese, Italian, Indian, and Moroccan filmmakers and stage directors.
